Android Save Screenshots to SD Card; What’s wrong with it?

When your Android mobile is saving the screenshots automatically to the SD card, and you don’t need that to happen, you have to change the default saving location of the capturing screenshots. This can be done by accessing and changing some settings on your Storage.

  • To change the default storage location to an SD card, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Storage from the Device menu.
  3. Select Preferred installation location.
  4. Set the default to an SD card (if one is already inserted) or internal Storage (Handset inbuilt memory). It should be noted that the default setting is ‘Let the system decide.’

So by changing the default storage location to an SD card, the screenshots will save to the SD automatically on your Android device.

Keep in mind that Android phones cannot accept standard SD cards. Instead, a microSD card is required, which is smaller in size but can typically hold the same amount of data.

  1. Turn off your Android phone before inserting the SD card. You’ll need a microSD card, and the card slot is usually located next to the SIM card slot.
  2. Restart your phone and launch the “Files” app.
  3. In the Files app, go to “Categories” and then “Images.”
  4. Navigate to your “Images” folder, which is distinct from the default Photo Gallery.
  5. Select the image or images to transfer to the SD card by pressing and holding the images.
  6. Select “Move to” from the options menu by tapping the ellipses icon in the top-right corner. The option to move to the SD card should appear automatically. Select “Continue.”
  7. If prompted to grant file access to the SD card, choose “Allow.”
  8. To remove the SD card, turn off your Android phone and then take it out.
